Four wildlife trails in the parish of Chardstock

Volunteers led by naturalist Martin Drake in Chardstock have produced a self-guided wildlife themed walk leaflet promoting a number if routes around the village. There are four walks of varying length around the parish that help people discover just how much of interest there is in the parish by pointing out plants, animals and the geological features that mould the local landscape.

This leaflet was produced by Chardstock parishioners with support from the Heritage Lottery-funded Blackdown Hills Natural Futures project. It was designed by Olivia Daly and printed by Chard Digital Print Ltd thanks to funding from the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Sustainable Development Fund. The maps are based on Ordnance Survey material with the permission of Ordnance Survey Crown Copyright OS Licence No. 0100055613.

The walks leaflet feastures some of Martin Drakes excellent line drawings and is available in numerous outlets around the Blackdown Hills and individual walks can be downloaded from the links below (PDF's)
